A quieter injury news cycle today, but a couple of situations worth updating as final roster cuts and Week 1 prep continue around the league.
Running Backs
Zach Charbonnet (Seahawks) is trending in the right direction as he works back from the torn ACL he suffered in January. He remains on the PUP list for now, but reporting indicates he could be ready for Seattle’s Sept. 9 opener against New England. With Kenneth Walker III having departed in free agency, the backfield is Charbonnet’s to lead if healthy, with first-round rookie Jadarian Price working in as a complementary piece behind him.
Isiah Pacheco (Lions) is dealing with a lingering MCL sprain that has held him out of camp work, and reports over the past few days indicate a second, separate back issue has also popped up, though it’s said to be the lesser concern of the two. His Week 1 timeline remains unclear, which is worth tracking closely given how it affects Detroit’s backfield touches.
Wide Receivers
The Giants took a real hit this week when Calvin Austin III went down with a non-contact knee injury during a one-on-one drill and had to be carted off the practice field. It’s since been confirmed as a torn ACL, ending his 2026 season. Austin had been in the mix for a receiver and return-game role behind Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton; his absence improves the roster odds for Odell Beckham Jr. and Braxton Berrios, and could push New York to add more depth at the position before final cuts.
Nothing else new of fantasy consequence has surfaced since our last update. We’ll keep checking back as teams finalize 53-man rosters and Week 1 injury designations start rolling in.
