Terry McLaurin Out for Season, Saquon Barkley Clears: Week 8 Injury Roundup

Terry McLaurin, Washington Commanders

Posted October 31, 2026 at 8:20 AM ET Β· Updated 8:22 AM ET to add Colston Loveland

Friday’s final injury reports are in ahead of a full Week 8 Sunday slate, and the headline is a season-ender: Terry McLaurin is done for the year in Washington. There’s good injury-report news too β€” Saquon Barkley enters Sunday night’s game at Washington with no designation at all β€” but the questionable list is long, with several teams waiting on Saturday workouts before finalizing Sunday’s lineups. Here’s where things stand.

Our 🟒/🟑/πŸ”΄/βšͺ tags are editorial availability-risk tiers, not NFL designations. Questionable/Out reflect a confirmed team or coach ruling; “Feed: questionable/out” means our tracked injury feed carries that status as of Friday, Oct. 30, with no final team report seen yet. Not sure how much weight a Questionable tag deserves? Here are the actual play rates.

Wide Receivers

βšͺ Out for the season β€” Terry McLaurin (WAS): McLaurin was carted off with an air cast during Washington’s Oct. 19 loss at San Francisco, and coach Dan Quinn confirmed the next day that an MRI found a torn left patellar tendon that will require season-ending surgery, per the Associated Press. He’s now on injured reserve for a Washington team moving on without its longtime WR1. Stefon Diggs is the clear beneficiary β€” he’s full practice healthy and takes over as Washington’s top receiver, with rookie Antonio Williams in line for a bigger role behind him.

Fantasy Action: drop McLaurin in shallow and medium leagues or stash him only in an IR slot; start Diggs with confidence as Washington’s new WR1 Sunday night against Philadelphia.

πŸ”΄ Ruled out β€” DeVonta Smith (PHI): Smith was downgraded to Out for Philadelphia’s Monday-night home game against Dallas with a hamstring strain and didn’t practice at all this week ahead of Sunday night’s trip to Washington, per our tracked feed. Saquon Barkley and Dallas Goedert both cleared the injury report entirely for the same game.

Fantasy Action: bench Smith for Sunday night at Washington; Makai Lemon is the PPR alternative in Philadelphia’s receiver room.

🟑 DNP Thursday and Friday β€” A.J. Brown (NE): Brown returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since his Week 1 high-ankle sprain, but Patriots coach Mike Vrabel said a separate knee issue popped up in the last few days and kept Brown from finishing Wednesday’s session; he then sat out Thursday and Friday entirely, per Boston.com’s coverage of Friday’s report. Vrabel said the team would evaluate Brown again Saturday before deciding on Sunday’s game at Miami.

Fantasy Action: treat Brown as a game-time call at Miami; check for a Saturday update before locking him into lineups, with DeMario Douglas the depth option if he sits.

πŸ”΄ Feed: out β€” Emeka Egbuka (TB): Tampa Bay’s receiver has bounced between body parts on the injury report this season, and our tracked feed now lists him out with a foot issue ahead of the Buccaneers’ home game against Atlanta, as of Friday, Oct. 30. Chris Godwin is the clear beneficiary in the same receiver room if Egbuka sits.

Fantasy Action: bench Egbuka at home against Atlanta; start Chris Godwin in his place.

πŸ”΄ Ruled out β€” Carnell Tate (TEN): Tate was ruled out for Sunday’s road game at Cincinnati with a shoulder injury on Friday, Oct. 30, per NBC Sports, RotoWire and Yahoo Sports β€” the same day fellow receiver Calvin Ridley landed on the injury report with a hip issue (Questionable on our tracked feed). With Tate out and Ridley uncertain, RotoWire has Elic Ayomanor taking the expanded role in Tennessee’s receiver room.

Fantasy Action: bench Tate at Cincinnati and check Ridley’s status before kickoff; Elic Ayomanor is the Titans receiver to stream.

Also in the receiver room: George Pickens (DAL) has been managing a shoulder and hamstring combination all week but practiced fully Friday and is trending toward playing at home against Arizona. Jaylen Waddle (DEN) aggravated a chest injury and is trending toward Questionable rather than a clean bill of health for Sunday’s home game against Kansas City β€” Troy Franklin and Marvin Mims Jr. would see added work if he sits. DJ Moore (BUF) is back to Questionable with the shoulder issue that cost him multiple games, with Joshua Palmer the safer source of volume if Moore can’t go at home against Baltimore. Jakobi Meyers (JAX) is a hamstring-driven bench-risk flex against Indianapolis.

Running Backs

🟒 No designation β€” Saquon Barkley (PHI): Barkley sat out Wednesday and Thursday while managing lingering hamstring and back issues, but returned to a full Friday practice and carries no injury tag into Sunday night’s game at Washington, per our tracked feed.

Fantasy Action: start Barkley with confidence Sunday night at Washington; Jaydon Blue remains the deep-league handcuff as Philadelphia’s RB2.

πŸ”΄ Ruled out β€” RJ Harvey (DEN): Harvey was held out of practice with a knee injury and was ruled out for Denver’s home game against Kansas City on Friday’s report, per our tracked feed. Jonah Coleman and J.K. Dobbins are the backs in line to split Denver’s work in his absence.

Fantasy Action: bench Harvey; treat both Coleman and Dobbins as touch-share flex options rather than a confident lead back at home against Kansas City.

πŸ”΄ Ruled out β€” Brian Robinson Jr. (ATL): Robinson was added to Atlanta’s injury report with a hamstring injury, didn’t practice Thursday, and was downgraded to Out for the Falcons’ trip to Tampa Bay, per our tracked feed. He’s strictly a backup behind Bijan Robinson, who is unaffected.

Fantasy Action: no lineup impact β€” Bijan Robinson remains Atlanta’s lead back regardless of Brian Robinson’s status.

🟑 Limited Wednesday and Thursday β€” Breece Hall (NYJ): Hall, still working back from the quadriceps injury that has cost him most of the season, was a limited practice participant again this week, per our tracked feed. Braelon Allen has handled lead-back work for the Jets whenever Hall has been out.

Fantasy Action: treat Hall as a bench-and-see for the Jets’ home game against Las Vegas; have Braelon Allen ready if Hall is downgraded.

Also in the backfield: TreVeyon Henderson (NE) carries an ankle designation on our tracked feed ahead of New England’s road game at Miami; expect another touch-share with Rhamondre Stevenson if he’s active rather than a full workload.

Tight Ends

🟑 Feed: questionable β€” Dalton Kincaid (BUF), Colston Loveland (CHI) and Colby Parkinson (LAR): all three sit on our tracked injury feed as Questionable heading into Saturday β€” Kincaid with a chest issue ahead of Buffalo’s home game against Baltimore, Loveland with a neck injury ahead of Chicago’s Monday-night trip to Seattle, and Parkinson with a ribs issue ahead of the Rams’ home game against the Chargers. None has a final team designation confirmed yet.

Fantasy Action: all three are streaming-only options; check each team’s final injury report before locking any of them into a lineup.
